Even if the timing was an accident of scheduling. Apparently originally  scheduled for Derbyshire.   ViewofStageWorcesters deserted campus at Easter recess amidst industrial actions and crisies in the NHS and the TATA steel works, not unlike the the miners strike, was probably fortuitous for the Tories.

Tory MP Andrea Jenkyns had an impossible job defending the governments record over steel industry and living wage as both issues hit the headlines this week.aJenkyns-stage
Labour MP Jess phillips declared her womb was more productive than the cabinet. As jenkyns tried to push the failing NHS into the EU debate Phillips was having none of it. She led an onslaught of corrections at her beleaguered panelist, whose  whispered protestations of popularism seemed somewhat lacking in conviction.

Jess Phillips pushed home the origiJesStageCurdlen of the minimum wage as Andrea Jenkyns disclosed how it was perfectly feasible to live on Netto tinned beans as she had.
Tim Farron tFarron-cudelivered a much more considered opinion, making some very good points, particularly about the duplicitous attitude of the Tories to the steel industries plight.

jTimpson-stage
John Timpson the head of the cobblers chain certainly played the elder statesman calling for a period of reflection. Sadly his concerns about the imposition of the full “Living wage” upon inflation failed to take into account the huge drops in corporation tax that industry was getting. This as I recall was meant to shift the social responsibility off government and onto business. Or have I misunderstood Osborne as well as Timpsons wife. Who apparently understands him all too well we learned in answer to the final question.
The whole performance was Dimmbleby-CUpolished off with an off air Shakespearian post script by Dimbleby. Who openly criticised the governments restructuring and potential privatisation of the BBC, Urging the public to petition their MP’s.

Hear Jonathan Dimbleby’s Questioning of the governments approach to the BBC:

Hello My Fellow Thinkers! O’ Brave New World ! O’er Beautiful World ?

This is the first dispatch from a little valley under a big hill in the Midlands of England. Close to the River Severn amid the raiding grounds of the dark ages. These islands that were so awash with dispute, collaboration, and ultimately assimilation. Spawning disparate ideas and exchanging them with Europe Is a fundamental part of our deep and enduring cultural tradition.

I write this as my heart sinks, my mind soars, and the fire in my belly burns. Why you may ask ?

Because we the British people teeter on the edge of the miasma of chaos that is filling the world and we doWighton (19) - Copy nothing. Nothing except hope that our masters won’t berate and beat us down harder than they have the last five years. A vote for the status quo is 76% of nothing. But what we actually voted for was radical change, of the kind that we are so good at in England, inviting conquerors in to save us from our own internal enemies. The enemies the conquerors have created. Or at least created in our minds.
What have we become, an imaginative, inquisitive, adaptable collection of peoples who have inhabited this island ?

As I say this would be understandable if we had not seen it before, but here we are a small nation in the north-west corner of 21st-century civilisation, Having fought with and against most European nations over the centuries and attaining a consensus of civilisation in the late 20th century, our leaders wish to suppress dissent and lead us into market slavery. WE the British, purporting to be the descendants of greatness,  but forgetting that greatness was assimilated from civilisations all over the world.

Inviting the colonising powers in so that we may resist the chaos beyond the seas (Maybe that should be seize). The world  We have played such a major part in shaping, that we now wish to pull up the drawbridge and return to the Norman yoke of corporate masters. This the ignorant knee-jerk reaction of society turning tribal. The Sacrifices and incanting of mumbo-jumbo had already been taking place in the sacred places of our society, The Corporalitic elites. Now they wish us all to chant louder to drown out the cries of those we vociferously sacrifice at the altar in the market. We have seen this behaviour so often in ancient societies before they turn to complete cannibalism and ultimately societal breakdown.

I know that Europe is far from perfect, but it does at least have a very great shared history with us. Many European countries are also not happy with the EU, but this is all the more reason to collaborate with the wisest and try to reform the union for our mutual benefit. As human beings. For only in collaboration can we hope to exert a democratic and civilising influence on our peoples.
